The Silverlining is a 42 foot Sparkman & Stephens sloop. Designed to race for the commodore of the Yacht club in Marblehead, Mass., she was built in 1939 entirely of wood and bronze by the well respected Maine builder Henry R. Hinckley. After racing for a decade she was owned by several families in Kennebunkport, Maine. The 1970s were not kind to the hull and in 1982 she was purchased by the present owner and restored. Her rebirth brought her to Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, Maine, where she has been providing fun, excitement, or just plain relaxation to thousands of customers annually along the southern Coast of Maine since 1983.Carrying 900 sq. ft. of sail with main and working jib alone, she is an excellent sailor in any sea condition making her ideal for the day sailing trade.
